Special Events bring worldwide online leaderboards, mandatory pitstops add race strategy, and three new cars from Audi and Mazda arrive in this competition-focused update.
505 Games and KUNOS Simulazioni have released Update 0.9 for Assetto Corsa EVO, the most competition-focused release of the Early Access cycle to date.
Special Events — Worldwide Online Leaderboards
Update 0.9 introduces Special Events, a new game mode accessible directly from the main menu. Each event combines a specific car and track with fixed conditions and time of day, challenging every player worldwide to perform under identical terms. Results are uploaded to persistent online leaderboards, creating an asynchronous competitive layer built around replayability. Two event types are available: Hotlap, for a single definitive lap, and Hotstint, for sustained competition across a full run.
Mandatory Pitstops — Strategy Enters the Race
Long requested by the community, mandatory pit stops are now available in multiplayer races. Pace alone is no longer the only determining factor — tyre condition, fuel consumption and pit window timing all come into play. Drivers manage their strategy directly through the on-screen MFD, selecting tyre compound, pressures and fuel load during the race.
Three New Cars
Update 0.9 expands the roster with three new additions: the Audi R8 LMS GT2, the Audi R8 V10 performance quattro, and the Mazda RX-7 FD Spirit R (Type A). Each has been meticulously recreated using real-world data.

New Racing Slick Tyre Model
KUNOS has introduced an updated racing slick tyre model deployed across GT racing cars, from Mazda MX5 Cup to Ferrari F40, delivering a clear step forward in the consistency and fidelity of the handling model.
Beyond these headline additions, Update 0.9 includes a broad force feedback and input reliability pass, renderer optimisation, and a range of gameplay and multiplayer fixes. For the full list of changes, read the official patch notes on the Assetto Corsa EVO Steam page.
Assetto Corsa EVO is available now in Early Access on PC via Steam.
