Assetto Corsa EVO Release 0.2 Out Now

KUNOS Simulazioni presents Release 0.2 of Assetto Corsa EVO, now available on Steam as part of the Early Access program.

This new release marks a major step forward in the game’s development, introducing key features and improvements across gameplay, performance, and content. Players can explore the new Open and Career modes, a customizable Race Weekend experience, the Replay Gallery, enhanced AI tools, and performance optimizations.
Release 0.2 also adds seven new cars and two new circuits—offering even more variety to the driving experience.

New Structure, new experiences

The Release 0.2 of Assetto Corsa EVO introduces a new gameplay structure: Open Mode and Career Mode.
Open Mode is a fully offline experience that grants immediate access to all available vehicles and customization options, with no progression system or driving license requirements.
Career Mode, by contrast, features a progression system that includes an in-game economy and the Driving Academy. It’s designed for those who prefer a structured, goal-oriented journey. Notably, Career Mode is now also fully accessible offline, with no internet connection required.

New Gameplay Experience: Custom Race Weekend

This new feature allows players to create complete race events, including Practice, Qualifying, and Warm-Up sessions before the main race.
Sessions can be configured to be either lap-based or time-based, enabling a deeper and more authentic race weekend experience.

Replay Gallery

With Release 0.2, the new Replay Gallery makes its debut.
Players can now save and review their gameplay replays—whether it’s a hot lap or a full race. The gallery includes playback controls such as slow-motion playback and multiple camera angles, and allows replays to be saved for future access. This feature is ideal for analyzing performance, studying race dynamics, or creating video content such as highlights or tutorials.

Custom AI Grid and Performance Optimization

This release includes numerous improvements to enhance stability and performance across all configurations, including VR setups and triple-screen support. It marks the second step in our optimization roadmap. A new Custom AI Grid configuration interface has also been introduced, allowing players to define performance levels for AI opponents. Players can now set the desired skill or aggressiveness of AI racers for better race balance. This marks the first stage of our roadmap for advanced AI customization.

New Circuits in Release 0.2

Two new tracks expand the racing experience in Early Access:

  • Circuit of the Americas (COTA): Located in Austin, Texas, this premier venue was inaugurated in 2012 and hosts events like Formula 1 and MotoGP. The 5.5 km (3.4 mi) circuit features 20 technical turns, dramatic elevation changes, and high-speed corners that challenge both car and driver.
  • Donington Park: One of the UK’s most historic circuits, originally built in the 1930s. Known for its rich motorsport heritage and flowing layout, the 4.0 km (2.5 mi) track blends fast straights with technical corners—making it a favorite among racing fans and professionals alike.
