EA 0.4 out now

Two ’90s Rally Legends, Snow Across New Stages, and an Official WRC Driver Join the Project.

The fourth Assetto Corsa Rally Early Access update is here. 505 Games, Supernova Games Studios, and KUNOS Simulazioni are pleased to deliver Update 0.4 — an update that expands the garage with two iconic machines from the 1990s, pushes the dynamic snow system to new territories, and marks the beginning of an official collaboration with WRC driver Jon Armstrong.

Two New Nineties Legends

Update 0.4 introduces two cars from one of the most celebrated decades in rally history, each representing a fundamentally different philosophy of what a rally car can be.

  • Peugeot 306 Maxi Kit Car, featured in its iconic IKE Racing livery. Front-wheel drive, a high-revving naturally aspirated engine, and a reputation for precision on tarmac. The 306 Maxi rose to fame with drivers such as François Delecour — a pure asphalt specialist that rewards commitment and finesse in equal measure.
  • Subaru Impreza S3 Group A, as driven by Colin McRae in 1993 — the car that began the Impreza’s legendary rally legacy. Four-wheel drive, a Boxer engine, and the all-terrain resilience that would come to define Subaru’s dominance in the World Rally Championship. Built for snow and gravel, it is the counterpoint to everything the 306 Maxi stands for.

Snow Expands. New Stages, New Challenges.

Following the strong community response to the dynamic snow system introduced at Monte-Carlo, Update 0.4 extends snowy weather conditions to the Alsace and Wales rallies. Stages that were already demanding now open up entirely new layers of challenge — requiring fresh approaches to car setup, tyre strategy, and driving technique as conditions evolve across a run.

The update also adds two new Event Groups dedicated to the newly introduced cars, for a total of 12 new events, alongside one additional event for each of the three Traction Groups — FWD, RWD, and 4WD — all featuring mixed weather conditions.

Official Collaboration with Jon Armstrong

We are proud to announce that beginning in March, Assetto Corsa Rally entered an official collaboration with Jon Armstrong, WRC rally driver for M-Sport. Bringing extensive experience across professional rallying, sim racing, and game development, Jon has played a direct role in refining vehicle physics and handling throughout this update.

Working from his feedback, the Supernova team focused particularly on tires, aerodynamics, and suspension. The result is car behaviour that is smoother, more predictable, and more communicative — making it more natural for players to manage wheel lock-up, loss of traction, and driving at the absolute limit. These are the phases Jon himself identifies as essential to driving a rally car both effectively and enjoyably.

FIA Esports Global Rally Tour

Following the recently announced partnership between Assetto Corsa Rally and the FIA — officially recognising ACR as the platform for the new international rally esports competition — Update 0.4 introduces dedicated in-game events representing the first qualification phase of the FIA Esports Global Rally Tour.

These events give thousands of Assetto Corsa Rally players around the world the opportunity to compete and begin their journey within the official FIA rally esports ecosystem. Further details regarding the calendar, competition format, and qualification phases will be shared soon. Follow the ACR official website and Assetto Corsa social channels for all the latest news.

Additional Improvements

Update 0.4 also includes a range of technical refinements: improved peripheral support, integration of the Fanatec FullForce and Logitech TrueForce SDKs, and further stability and usability improvements across the title. Full details are available in the dedicated changelog.
